This is my new blog, nonpiudifiori, and over time I will be posting some thoughts on opera performances, recordings, DVDs, recitals, and events that take place in the operatic world. I will be investigating opera from a teenager’s perspective, something that is becoming increasingly rare. This is an important issue to me (and to anyone who wants opera to survive) and I hope to use that as an overall ‘topic’ for all of my thoughts – I will try and bring friends to the opera, for example, or determine how accessible a DVD performance might be to a young person. I also hope that when (if) this blog becomes more widely read, that I will be able to interview singers and musicians on their thoughts on classical music and youth. This is an issue that I deeply care for and would like to change.
